DATE: Victorian, c.1900
This stunning antique set (or Demi-Parure) dates from the Late Victorian period, circa 1900 and comes boxed with an original S.J. Phillips box, which the piece would have been later retailed. It consist of two pieces - a brooch and a pair of earrings- each one set with fine blue enamel, old mine cut diamonds and gorgeous gold work. The brooch features a lovely border surround of ropework, and the centre is modelled as a type of flower, swirling in one direction and set with rose cut diamond petals and and old cut centre. The earrings are of the same design, with open worked gallery's and slim gold wires. Both pieces are crafted in 15 karat gold, and remain in lovely antique condition.
S.J. Phillips have been around for 156 years!! With being founded in 1869 by Solomon Joel Phillips, the London based business was family owned, and is still open today! The company did and still does specialise in European silver, antique and estate jewellery and gold snuff boxes. What a long line of history they have behind them...
