DATE: Vintage, c.1970
Cool vintage gold stud earrings modelled after a Greek dracham with Zeus - enthroned - facing left with his eagle perched on an outstretched hand. The legend, written in the genitive case, translates as, ALEXANDROY, meaning [the coinage] ‘of Alexander’, who's head would have featured on the obverse of the coin wearing the famous lion pelt of Heracles. They're crafted in 18k gold and date from the 1970s. Semi-numismatic jewellery.
