DATE: Vintage, c.2000
A year 2000 commemorative coin featuring a dandelion head on one side, and a dandelion seed-head border on the other. Featuring the words MILLENNIUM 2000. These were made by the Royal Mint to mark the beginning of the new millennium, designed by sculptor Felicity Powell and minted in Llantrisant, Wales. It's been housed in a silver frame with loop and jump ring for wear as a charm or pendant. On a vaguely related note... remember the Millennium Bug? I recently heard that its overall cost to the global economy was $485 billion. Eek. There's still no real consensus as to whether or not any of the remedial work was needed.
