DATE: Victorian, c.1880

A superb Victorian intaglio signet ring featuring an oval carnelian stone with the Latin motto VIRTUTE RESURGO, or "I rise again with valour". The head is rectangular, with a concealed glass locket compartment on the back, and elegant trifurcated shoulders. It's modelled in 18 karat gold and dates from the 1880s
