DATE: Victorian, c.1880

A cool Victorian five-stone gypsy ring set with graduated turquoise oval cabochons. With a sort of alien look to it, it's remarkable how well these gypsy rings have aged, the simplicity of form and setting shifting through the ages seemingly unaffected by the passing of time. This one's modelled in 18 karat gold and dates from the latter half of the 19th century, circa 1880.
