DATE: Victorian, c.1900

A beautiful Victorian locket dating from the turn of the 20th century. The front features a sky blue buckle or garter - to symbolise an intimate bond; holding a loved one close - looped around a leaf. Surrounding the garter is a braided rope to represent eternity, and the back features incredibly intricate engraved detailing. Two locket compartments contain photographs of a young gentleman, one in First World War military uniform, and it's 9 karat gold back and front.

No marks present, tests as 9k gold (back and front)

CONDITION 

Very good, some light pitting to the enamel but no areas of loss. The back has a small patch of tarnish - possibly has been acid tested as some stage in its lift. This is easily polished out if preferred
