DATE: Victorian, c.1880
A gorgeous Victorian oval locket in 18 karat gold. It features deep grooves down its length, each one embellished with applied ropework in between. It opens to reveal two oval compartments to display a photograph or other keepsake. Complete with its original bail, it's a particularly fine example dating from the 1880s.
