DATE: Victorian, 1885
A fine antique buckle ring set with a single old mine cut diamond. It's very crisp and well detailed, with clear English hallmarks for the year 1885. It's modelled in 18 karat gold, and remains in excellent condition.
The buckle is a common theme in jewellery from the era, and was known to represent strength, loyalty, and endurance - but more than that, it can be seen to create an eternal loop, especially in the context of a ring or bangle.
