DATE: Victorian, c.1890
A cool antique whistle charm crafted in chequered niello silver. It's a somewhat curious design, the open sides must be closed off (pinched by the fingers) in order for the whistle to make a sound... The design gives it a particularly modern look, however it was made in the late Victorian era (in France) at the turn of the 20th Century.
