DATE: Victorian, c.1900

A fantastic antique games compendium dating from the early 20th century, circa 1900. The box contains an assortment of classic board games: chess, backgammon, liars' dice, steeplechase, dominoes, playing cards etc. Mostly original, but some extras have been added over the years (plastic counters, dice etc.) The chess pieces and cup, as well as backgammon counters are carved boxwood, some of the dice and the dominoes are bone, and the steeplechase counters are enamelled lead.

MEASUREMENTS 

Box: 13 x 8 x 4 inches

CONDITION 

Generally good, some wear to the horses and the board around the folds, and the box lid is cracked. Otherwise wear commensurate with age and use
