DATE: Victorian, c.1850

An incredible antique signet ring dating from the mid 19th Century. It's Chinese, with the symbol "double happiness" on the head, often used as a symbol of marriage... which would, to me, indicate that this was exchanged as a wedding ring. It's crafted in 23 karat gold and, quite unusually, the band is adjustable at the back to accommodate different finger sizes.
