DATE: Victorian, c.1900

A striking antique amethyst necklace dating from the turn of the 20th Century. The principal stone is huge - weighing around 25.8 carats - and set within a gold twist border. The twist motif is continued throughout the chain, and the whole thing is crafted in 18 karat gold throughout.
