Early Victorian 22k Gold Buckle Ring
Early Victorian 22k Gold Buckle Ring
$750.00
Description
DATE: Victorian, 1855
Charming early Victorian buckle ring in 22k gold and made in the year 1855, as indicated by Chester hallmarks to the inner band. The Victorians, and their beloved Queen herself, loved a buckle. Back then it symbolised eternity (it holds together an infinite loop), loyalty (clasping two ends together), strength (made of metal), and protection (more-or-less a combination of the previous two concepts). This example is slim, with finely worked buckle frame and prong.
