DATE: Art Deco, c.1920
An utterly adorable antique bell charm with enamelled edelweiss flower on the front and a double-sided red enamel heart shaped "clapper" suspended inside. Edelweiss, by the Victorian language of flowers, represents deep love and devotion. These tiny alpines are relatively short lived, and grow on remote high peaks, meaning a gift of an edelweiss flower is sure to have required some serious effort/devotion. It's crafted in 14 karat gold with what appear to be Swiss gold marks to the bail.
