DATE: Art Deco, c.1920
A top-tier Art Deco cluster ring with calibré cut sapphires arranged in a sort of webbed square around a stunning central transitional cut diamond (0.86ct, F/G-VS2). The platinum construction allows for wonderfully intricate metalwork: in particular the fine millegrain edging, and the delicate scrolled openwork on the gallery. Hand made in England in the 1920s, it would make an exceptionally refined engagement ring, or, naturally, the perfect Deco period cocktail ring.
