DATE: Art Deco, c.1930

Wonderful Art Deco solitaire ring set with a principal 2.5ct square step cut sapphire certified as natural with no heat treatment. The stone displays an excellent vivid deep blue colour, with excellent clarity and velvety flashes of brighter blue as the back facets catch the light. It's flanked to either side by stepped shoulders, each set with three French cut diamonds in squared off mounts. A stunning period example, crafted in platinum throughout and made by hand in England circa 1930.
