DATE: Victorian, c.1890

This elegant antique 5-stone half hoop ring is ring set with alternating opals and old mine cut diamonds, and it's modelled in rich 18k gold throughout. The opals are full of life, while the diamonds are sparkly, chunky and bright, with a total carat weight of 1.06ct. The lovely carved gallery features scroll motifs that continue up to form the claws that hold the stones in place, and the detail continues to travel along the shoulders. Silver millegrain rests in-between each stone, enhancing their sparkle and brightness, and it dates from the Victorian period, circa 1890.
