Description
DATE: Vintage, c.1970
An exquisite and beautiful cluster ring featuring a magnificent 2.70 carat transitional cut diamond with a stunning gentle yellow tint, surrounded by a halo of tsavorite garnets. The centre stone, sparkles brilliantly, while the rare and fantastic garnets create a great contrast. The ring is crafted in platinum with elegant split shoulder details, presenting a strikingly elegant appearance, perfect for an alternative engagement ring.
The Tsavorite Garnet was first discovered in the Tsavo National Park, Kenya, in 1967 by Campbell Bridges, a British gemologist. It all started when he found some strange nodules of rock, with a few beautiful green grains and crystal fragments inside. Upon examination, he discovered he had found green grossular, a member of the garnet gemstones group. It was soon recognised by Tiffany & Co. who still have these beautiful gems as a part of their jewellery collections. The gem is a symbol of kindness, strength, wealth, energy, and self-assurance.
