19th Century French Gilt Bronze Myrtle Leaf Tiara
19th Century French Gilt Bronze Myrtle Leaf Tiara
$1,850.00
Description
DATE: 19th Century, c.1860
This romantic 19th century French made tiara is gorgeously crafted in gilt bronze, and definitely speaks outdoor wedding/elf princess to me! It features stunning gilded myrtle leaf and floral motifs that stretch out from the bands headpiece, and according to Kate Greenaway's Language of Flowers book, this simply means "Love". Antique jewellery often included floral motifs, as part of their "Language of Flowers", whereby each flower or plant represented some romantic or emotional sentiment! The band features two loops where perhaps a ribbon can be tied to secure, and it remains in stunning antique condition.
