Sweet vintage anchor charm dating from the 1960s. It's technically a 'fouled anchor', foul being a nautical term meaning to entangle or entwine, so and anchor is said to be 'fouled' if it has rope wrapped around it or snags on the seafloor, and when depicted like this one it's the emblem of the Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom (a position that, since the passing of Prince Phillip, remains vacant). This one's crafted in 9 karat gold with London hallmarks.
