$8,500.00
Description
DATE: Vintage, c.1960
The lucky number 8... Eight is widely recognized in Chinese culture as a promising sign, and its sound in the Chinese language resonates with words like "wealth" or "prosperity". Because of this connection, eight is often chosen in games.
A cool pair of vintage cufflinks, modelled as dominoes, each set with eight brilliant cut diamond pips. They are lovely quality and crafted in 18k yellow gold throughout. With French hallmarks and the Boucheron Paris marks to the backs.
Boucheron is one of the oldest jewellery maisons in Paris renowned for its creative style and characterful stones. Frédéric Boucheron was born into a family of dressmakers in 1831. However he broke the family tradition at a young age to open his own jewellery shop. Boucheron began to work with gold and precious stones the same way he had worked with fabrics and in 1858, he opened his first Galerie de Valois boutique in Paris. His success was immediate and the brand is still going strong.
