A fantastic costume piece by Butler and Wilson. In 1969, Butler & Wilson (Nicky Butler and Simon Wilson) began selling jewellery in the Antiquarius market, Chelsea and shortly after in 1972 their first shop opened in London. Taking inspiration from the Art Deco period to the Victorian era, they used coloured stones and crystals to create glamorous statement pieces. Princess Diana was seen wearing many Butler and Wilson pieces... Such as a starburst hair clip and a snake brooch.
Taking inspiration from the Victorian era, these starburst earrings are set with sparkly paste gemstones. The Victorians were fascinated by the sky's mysterious nature, and it intrigued them. It represented the realm of dreams, magic, and the hidden aspects of life. They're stamped with the Butler & Wilson marks, and feature clip on backs so no need for pierced ears!
