This lovely antique charm is modelled as a padlock, made from a fourpence or "The Victoria Groat". They were first issued in 1838, produced for circulation in the UK at irregular intervals until 1855. This one is dated 1855 and you can still see the small details across the front and back! The key mechanism at the front can be turned, to release the padlock for addition to a bracelet or chain.
