Victorian Burma Sapphire, Ruby & Diamond Double Snake Ring
$5,000.00
Description
DATE: Victorian, c.1890
This fantastic Victorian period double snake ring is crafted in 18 karat buttery yellow gold. Each snake is set with a gemstone "brain"—one with a Burma ruby, the other with a Burma sapphire—symbolizing passion and wisdom. Their fierce eyes are set with sparkling old cut diamonds, and the ring wraps around the finger three whole times- Where each snake's tail gracefully ends at the shoulders. Rich in symbolism, the intertwined snakes represent eternal love and unity.
The symbolism of snake rings is equally rich and varied. They symbolize transformation and renewal, shedding their skin to signify personal growth and new beginnings. They are seen as protectors and guardians in many cultures, believed to ward off evil and provide healing! Additionally, snakes embody duality and balance, representing the interconnectedness of opposing forces such as good and evil, life and death, and wisdom and cunning.
