DATE: Victorian, c.1870

A strikingly ornate and highly decorated brooch with typical Victorian patterns and scrollwork throughout. Brooches from the Victorian period were considered super fashionable, with amethyst being a popular choice of stone. This ones set with four gorgeous amethyst cabochons, the main stone being 16.33 carats, and of super vibrant colour and glossy exterior. Three pear shaped amethysts drop from the centre piece, with further gold work surrounds- 20.53 carats total. Each stone has a faceted bottom, with a smooth and glossy top, designed to increase light reflection and brilliance.
