DATE: Modern, c.1970

Cool brutalist ring dating from the 1970s. The principal stone is a hematite pebble, asymmetrical, with bezel set diamond at the centre. The wide gold band has a hammered texture all around, and expands into an amorphous blob that wraps partially around the hematite - not unlike a gold nugget in appearance. The hematite looks otherworldly in this form, black with patches of dark dull green, an excellent contrast to the gold and the diamond.
