$1,250.00
Description
DATE: Art Deco, c.1920
A lovely French lucky charm modelled as a four leaf clover. With "Je Porte Bonheur" in black enamel, translating to "I Bring Good Luck". Originating from Ireland, four-leaf clovers were believed to offer magical protection and guard you from bad luck. The leaves are said to stand for faith, hope, love and luck. It's often said Ireland grows more four-leaf clovers than anywhere in the world, which explains the expression "The luck of the Irish". However the chance of finding one is about 1 in 10,000. It's crafted in 14k gold and dates from the Art Deco period, circa 1920.
