Victorian Turquoise & Diamond Pansy Ring
DATE: Victorian, c.1890
This dainty little ring features a pansy flower head, set with turquoise cabochons and a rose cut diamond. Victorian jewellery was full of hidden meaning, often sentimental or romantic, and the pansy was no exception. Its name derives from the French pensée – to think – and a gift of pansies would indicate the giver was thinking of you… amorously. This ring is modelled in 15k gold, with a beautiful antique patina.
