Victorian Gold Scallop Shell Locket

This pretty antique pendant is modelled as a scallop shell, in 9k gold with a locket compartment at the back. In the Middle Ages, the scallop shell became associated with religious pilgrimages; but since much earlier the shell has been a symbol of fertility, and often associated with the Goddess Venus.

No marks present, tests as 9k gold
Very good, some light wear commensurate with age and use
