Victorian Emerald & Diamond Picture Frame Ring
DATE: Victorian, c.1900
This beautiful antique ring is set with a sublime central emerald, framed by a cluster of white diamonds. The head rests between elegant bifurcated shoulders which, along with an open gallery, allow plenty of light in behind the stones – further enhancing their bright colour and sparkle. By the end of the 19th Century, jewellery trends tended towards smaller-scale pieces as women became more active in the workplace, sports, and other active pursuits.
Natural Emerald (.77 carat) and eight cut Diamonds – total diamond weight approx. 25pts
