Victorian Coiled Rope & Anchor Locket
DATE: Victorian, c.1890
This adorable antique locket is modelled, from the front, as an anchor laid over a coil of rope. To the Victorians, the Anchor was a strong symbol for Hope and "A New Start". The back of this locket displays pretty hand-chased detail, and it opens to reveal an antique photograph of a lady. Crafted from 15k gold.
2.8 x 1.7cm (including bail)
No marks present, tests as 15k gold
Very good, some light wear commensurate with age and use, and a small ding to the anchor - please see images
