Mid-Victorian Coral "Grape Bunch" Earrings

Description

DATE: Victorian, c.1870

This charming pair of antique earrings dates to the mid-Victorian period. Featuring vivid orange coral balls, each earring is modelled as bunch of grapes, complete with a leaf fringe and two larger coral orbs above. The wires are 9k yellow gold, and the rest of the metal is pinchbeck - a base metal alloy designed to look like yellow gold. A wonderful pair, so unusual but in excellent taste.
