Mid-Victorian Chased Locket Signet Ring
DATE: Mid-Victorian, c.1870
A wonderful quality locket signet ring modelled in 15k gold. The back of the head features an inscription: "T. Keyworth to Sister Ann"; while the hinged front panel opens to reveal a miniature portrait, presumably of Mr Keyworth himself - sporting an excellent long white beard.
An intriguing feature is the fine engraving to the face, which when you look closely depicts a leaping stag. It's very subtle, but a lovely effect. The shoulders are deeply chased with abstract foliate details.
Head: 16.0 x 13.0mm - Width of band: 2.8mm
No marks present, tests as 15k gold
Excellent, a small acid test mark to the inner band
