Georgian White Paste Navette Pendant "Love Unites Us"
Georgian White Paste Navette Pendant "Love Unites Us"
$2,500.00
Description
DATE: Georgian, c.1780
This stunning navette pendant/brooch dates from the latter half of the 18th Century - circa 1780 - and has so many things going for it. In no particular order: intricate guilloché enamel work in a vivid royal blue; a border of black dot paste gemstones, cushion cut; and a central plaque with the motto, in French, "Love Unites Us" (L'Amour Nous Unisse). The central plaque features a white enamelled border with gold shoots, and a gold bow streaming out of the top - two strands of ribbon tied together as one, in keeping with the motto. It's a truly wonderful thing, and very wearable with both brooch and pendant fittings to the reverse.
