Edwardian Offset Opal & Diamond Ring
DATE: Edwardian, c.1905
This unusual antique ring is set with a vibrant opal cabochon, flanked by two square cushion cut diamonds on either side. The stones are arranged very slightly offset from centre – held in platinum claw mounts. The simple band is modelled in 18k yellow gold, creating a nice two-tone contrast with the head. The reverse features delicate openwork, allowing light in from behind the stones adding further to their brightness.
