Edwardian .90ct Old Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring
Edwardian .90ct Old Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring
$2,850.00
Description
DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
The perfect Edwardian claw set solitaire engagement ring dating from the early 20th Century. It's set with an old English brilliant cut stone (think old Euro but slightly more refined) in a platinum eight claw basket with finely openworked gallery. The band is 18 karat yellow gold, with elegant pinched shoulders and slim profile. It's beautifully proportioned, and exceptionally well made - confirmed by the fact that it's survived the past 110 years in near prefect condition. The stone itself pre-dates the ring by at least 30 years; another example of the tradition of repurposing precious and sentimental gemstones into new pieces of jewellery.
