Gorgeous antique portrait miniature brooch dating from the early Victorian period, circa 1840. The cushion-shaped painting features a young woman reading what is presumably a love letter, it's pigeon courier perched on the table beside her. It's bordered by chunky black dot paste gemstones, with a hinged locket compartment to the reverse.
