An incredible early Victorian Witch's Heart pendant with rock crystal heart-shaped cabochon centre and rose cut diamond border. Excellent quality, it's crafted in 18 karat gold with the diamond set in silver.
The Witch's Heart was a popular motif throughout the Georgian and early Victorian eras, the witches heart features a curved point at the bottom, and implied that the giver had become "bewitched" to fall in love with the recipient... in ancient times the heart was allegedly used to ward off witches and other evil spirits.
