Art Deco Zircon Filigree Ring

This 1930s solitaire ring is set with a vibrant 3.75 carat blue Zircon. The shoulders feature pretty filigree openwork and an elegant open gallery allows light behind the stone. The name zircon name derives from the Persian zargun, meaning "gold coloured", and the stone has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, known for its intense fire/brilliance and lucid colour. While blue is the most popular variety, zircon can be found in a range of colours from clear to deep red.

No marks present, tests as 9k white gold and platinum
