DATE: Art Deco, c.1930
An exceptional Art Deco cocktail ring dating from the 1930s. It reminds me of a cat's eye (utilising the imagination...) with a seam of channel set sapphires raised into a convex dome above two rows of diamond-set stepped shoulders. The streamlined, architectural form reflects trends in aerodynamic vehicle (land, sea, and air) designs of the early to mid 20th century. Technology and Art influencing each other in their swirling, dancing, feedback loop. Crafted in platinum throughout.
