An amazing antique charm necklace, telling the life story of a "Vera B Smith". Made up from two charm bracelets, this piece can be connected to be worn as a necklace, or as two bracelets. It features 16 gold charms, one including the name of the owner, "VBE Smith, 6 Burwood Place, London, W2". Small links also show her name V E R A S M I T H engraved across them... I'll name the charms from the start... Her star sign! Pisces. The next, some sort of religious symbol, possibly a bible? Along with a St. Christopher, a cherub and and a boat with an England flag. This is where the first bracelet ends, fastening with a gold hook to the other. She's then added "London" crest charms, she possibly travelled here then settled to live, in which he celebrated her 21st birthday! Another St. Christopher charm is shown for her safe travels to the address I mentioned above. Further saint charms have been added, along with her fathers WW1 charm, dated and signed "Daddy" to the back. Maybe she added this when she sadly lost him? It ends with a Cheltenham crest and fastens with another gold hook. Modelled in 9k gold throughout, I would say this was given to Vera as she was born, and eventually added her own charms throughout her life. She would be 99 years old today, I think she lived a pretty fulfilled life.
