Art Deco Diamond & Ruby Chunky Buckle Ring
Art Deco Diamond & Ruby Chunky Buckle Ring
$4,450.00
Description
DATE: Art Deco, c.1935
This cool and chunky buckle ring dates from the Art Deco period, circa 1935. Not the usual buckle ring you seen on butterlaneantiques.com, but it's definitely a show-stopper. Pave set with sparkly and bright diamonds, the calibre cut rubies create the "buckle" effect, with a single baguette cut diamond at the end of the head. The curved and exaggerated lines make up the 18k white gold band.
Buckle rings have been a popular symbol for many many years, and the Victorians especially loved them. It symbolised eternity, fidelity, strength and protection as the symbol curves around and threads back onto itself, creating an eternal loop.
