.48ct Pear Cut Diamond Engagement Ring
DATE: Stone: Victorian, c. 1880 - Ring mount: Contemporary 2016, handmade in England
We have set this beautiful antique pear shaped diamond in a contemporary ring mount of our own design. The .48ct stone - salvaged from a damaged Victorian pendant - is a relatively shallow cut, making it appear larger than the actual carat weight. The simple three-claw mount has a pretty heart-shaped detail at the apex of the pear, and is crafted from recycled antique gold and platinum. This piece takes inspiration from 1940s Modernism, whilst maintaining a timeless-contemporary feel.
