1910s French Onyx and Diamond Cocktail Ring
DATE: Edwardian, c.1910
This fabulous antique cocktail ring was made in France in the early 20th Century. It is set with a large onyx cabochon in the centre, surrounded by two rows of rose cut diamonds in millegrain platinum settings. The bezel displays wonderful leaf and vine engraving, which continues along the sides of the 18k gold band. Further rose cut diamonds accent the shoulders.
Onyx cabochon (1.3cm diameter) and rose cut diamonds
Head: 2.0 x 1.9cm - Rise off finger: 7.7mm - Width of band: 1.2mm
No marks present, tests as 18k gold and platinum
Very good. Some light wear commensurate with age and use, and there is evidence of a past resize at the back of the band.
