17th Century Stuart Crystal "Cherub & Heart" Memorial Ring
DATE: 17th Century, c.1690
This rare and unusual 17th Century Stuart Crystal ring is set with a faceted rock crystal, behind which lies a remarkable mourning scene. A cherub kneels before an altar, on which rests a heart. The scene is surrounded by a cluster of rose cut diamonds, mounted in silver, with a closed-back head and pretty trifurcated shoulders. The ring dates to c.1690, and remains in remarkably good condition.
